The shortlist

Nothing here is a recipe. Pick a line, open the fridge, done. The numbers and the sourcing come from the four food guides — each card links back to the one it was pulled from if you want the full picture.

01 · DESK DRAWER 3.5g

Macadamias + a square of 85% dark chocolate

The square is 1.5g on its own. The fat in the nuts flattens what little sugar comes with it.

02 · FRIDGE 1g

Pepperoni slices + cubed cheddar

Salt, fat and protein with nothing to assemble. The closest thing on keto to opening a packet of crisps.

1 MIN Dairy →
03 · FRIDGE 2.5g

Cucumber rounds + cream cheese

The cheapest crunch available to you. Salt the cucumber properly and it stops tasting like diet food.

04 · PREP AHEAD 0.6g

Hard-boiled eggs + everything bagel seasoning

Boil six on Sunday and this becomes the snack you reach for without deciding anything.

1 MIN FROM COLD Food Guides →
05 · FRIDGE 4g

Celery sticks + almond butter

Two tablespoons is the portion. Check the jar lists almonds and salt and nothing else.

06 · FRIDGE 5g

Blackberries + heavy whipped cream

The lowest-carb berry under the highest-fat topping. Half a cup of berries, not a bowl.

2 MIN Fruits →
07 · FRIDGE 4.5g

Bell pepper strips + guacamole

Green peppers cost about a gram less than red, which are sweeter. Both beat any cracker.

08 · FRIDGE 5g

Full-fat Greek yoghurt + crushed pecans

Plain only. Flavoured tubs start around 12g and climb from there, whatever the front of the pot says.

1 MIN Dairy →
09 · FRIDGE 1g

Prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella pearls

Three minutes of assembly for something that travels well cold and looks like you tried.

3 MIN Dairy →
10 · SHELF STABLE 2g

Green olives + cubed feta

Both keep in brine at room temperature until the jar is opened, which makes this a drawer snack.

1 MIN Dairy →
11 · SHELF STABLE 2.5g

Coconut chips + brazil nuts

Unsweetened chips only — the sweetened ones are a different food. Two brazil nuts cover a day of selenium.

12 · FRIDGE 5.5g

Sliced strawberries + whipped mascarpone

Dessert that lands under 6g as long as you keep it to four berries and one spoon of mascarpone.

3 MIN Fruits →

BUILD YOUR OWN

One fat, one plant, and you are done

Every combo above is the same formula run twice. Anchor the snack with something fatty enough to keep you full, then add a low-carb plant for volume and crunch. Two items, under 5g, no recipe involved.

Common questions

What are the best keto snacks for the office?+

Anything that survives a drawer: macadamias, brazil nuts, coconut chips, jerky, a sealed jar of olives, single-serve nut butter sachets. Keep an unopened bag of pork rinds behind the monitor for the day you skip lunch. If there is a shared fridge, cubed cheese and hard-boiled eggs cover most afternoons, and neither needs cutlery. The failure mode is not hunger — it is the biscuit tin at three o'clock, so the point of stocking a drawer is having an answer before you need one.

What can I eat when I want something sweet?+

Berries with cream is the reliable one — half a cup of blackberries or four sliced strawberries under whipped cream or mascarpone lands at 5g and feels like a pudding. A square of 85% dark chocolate is 1.5g and the fat in a few macadamias alongside keeps it from being a spike. If the craving is for a specific thing rather than sweetness in general, a swap works better than a substitute; a dedicated craving swap sheet is in the works for exactly that. Until then, check what sweetener a product uses before you trust the front of the pack.

How do I snack on keto while travelling?+

Pack shelf-stable fat before you leave: nuts, coconut chips, jerky, cheese crisps. Airport and service-station shelves are almost entirely carbohydrate, and the one thing you can reliably buy anywhere is a bag of nuts and a black coffee. Petrol stations usually have hard-boiled eggs or cheese sticks by the till. On long drives, a cool bag with cheese, olives and cucumber costs nothing and removes every roadside decision. Water and salt matter more than usual when you are eating on the move.

Are any of these kid-friendly?+

Most of them, and children do not need to be on keto to eat well from this list. Cheese cubes, prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella, berries with cream, cucumber with cream cheese and strawberries with mascarpone all read as normal food rather than diet food. Skip whole nuts for under-fours — choking risk — and use nut butter thinly spread instead. The one caution is sugar-free sweets marketed at children: the sugar alcohols in them cause stomach upset at small body weights.
